Drugs
|
Football star John Matusek, actor River Phoenix, rock singer Elvis Presly, comic actor Cris Farly, and his hero, comic actor John Belushi all have some thing in common. All were famous. All used illegal drugs. Allare deadas a result. Such examples only hint at the destruction caused in our country by drugs. And you certainly don't have to be famous to pay the potenialy high prices for getting high- ruined education, jail time, permant mental problems, andin thousands of cases each year, sudden death. UGLY SURPRISES the truth is no matter what illegal substance you snort, smoke, shut up or eat a drug user has no way of knowing whether his next high will be his last. He may overdose, suffer an allergic reactionor poisned by some added ingredient. If he wakes up at all, it'll probably be in the emergency room, with the police offecers standing by to question him. Another fact about drugs: the longer you use them the more certain it is that they will do serious harmSubstance abuse is like a theif determined to fob you of your health, your friends and family, your money, your self-respect and your future. If you think you're different, that you can control drugs and not let drugs controll you, you're wrong. Possibly dead wrong.
